I have recently been responsible for the development and launch of a national online environment using web 2.0 technologies to support knowledge sharing, knowledge building and benchmarking across local government in England. Do register and explore the environmnet on www.communities.idea.gov.uk. Around 35,000 users are working in over 700 communiities with academics and policy makers. The approach has application across the whole of the public sector - costs and risks are low. Benefits in terms of time saving and avoiding the replication of mistakes are high. As a speaker I will be demonstrating the environment and discussing the challenges of introducing changed ways of working across the whole of a public sector.

Following on from what I said below, a number of other organisations have bought into the software below. I have been working with colleagues in the education sector to identify the needs of the education sector and to look at models of development for what is a national ICT infrastructure project.

Hi Chris,
I am curious about the agenda of the conference as I would like to book my trip in advance and I need to book a flight to London. Is the agenda already available somewhere?
I am looking forward meeting you all,

Am looking forward to the event. I looked at the empty schedule and am left a bit confused. Perhaps I have missed some key information. Is the whole point that the agenda does not get planned until we all arrive or are we supposed to be entering ideas in the schedual now. I am easy whatever way this goes but would find it helpful to know as I prepare a presentation. Gail
Martin Rich Comment by Martin Rich on June 11, 2009 at 8:51pm
I assume that Chris will populate the schedule closer to the time and has put up this outline so that at least we know when the keynote speakers are on, and when activities start and finish each day. This is useful to know, especially for those of us who are London-based, so thanks Chris for providing the information
